  • 1. The Customs broker enters the consignment information into the computer in accordance with the documents submitted by the owner of the goods and prints an initial import declaration.
  • 2. He submits the import declaration to the preparation section at the customs group which audits the documents attached to the declaration and matches them against what has been declared.
  • 3. The import declarations are sorted out and the consignments are referred according to their country of origin or any other control criteria to the Inspection Support.
  • 4. After determining the unloading method, the import declarations will be referred to the Customs Security Section to supervise the consignment preparation by the unloading company and determines the location where to be prepared.
  • 5. The import declarations will be returned on the next day from the customs security section to the customs group after the consignment preparation. The import declarations will be distributed among the customs inspectors electronically.
  • 6. The customs inspector examines the consignment physically, matches the imported goods against the documents attached to the declaration and against what the owner of the goods has declared, and notes any remarks if any, or finalizes the import declaration procedures and refers it to the customs group supervisor.
  • 7. The customs group supervisor reviews the import declaration documents, subheadings, restrictions, and procedures and then transmits it electronically to the bank for collection of the customs duties.
  • 8. The customs broker pays the customs duties to the bank. The transaction is then transmitted electronically from the bank to the release unit.
  • 9. The release unit prints the customs declaration after payment of the customs duties by the customs broker. The customs broker will receive a goods release notification together with a copy of the customs declaration.
  • 10. The customs security officer at the gate receives the release notification from the driver and allows the consignment to be moved out after verifying that its customs procedures are complete.
